Cet article est un « must » pour toute personne qui s’interroge sur l’importance de la communication en médecine. Selon une étude auprès de 3 000 médecins canadiens, les médecins qui ont obtenu les scores les plus bas au chapitre de la communication patient-médecin à leur examen national de certification sont plus enclins à faire l’objet de plaintes de la part des patients et de poursuites pour faute professionnelle.

For anyone who ever wondered about the importance of communication in medicine, this paper is must-reading. This study of over 3,000 Canadian physicians found that the physicians most likely to get patient complaints and face malpractice claims scored the lowest on patient-physician communication skills on their national licensing examinations.
